My journey with Active-Rest has been fantastic. For me, the whole approach has been an eye opener. Not only are the sessions innovative and fun but there is real support form Richard to also focus on whole health, mind and body. I wanted to achieve strength to support other activities like horse riding and yoga. Active-rest went beyond my expectations and I feel happier and healthier and stronger definitely. I think Active-Rest has it all covered. The journey to a healthier way of life is not easy and I have struggled, especially during these uncertain times, thankfully I started with Active-Rest on their intensive course last January and, although very hard, the transformation has been amazing both physically and mentally. When we went into lockdown the gyms shut so I was unable to do any training at the gym and was finding it hard to motivate myself to do any kind of fitness.
I then discovered Richard East, a Personal Trainer, at Active-Rest who was doing online live sessions every day for an hour doing just body weight exercises.
I couldn’t believe how many calories I was burning and I continued doing the online live sessions and some on demand sessions if I was unable to make the live ones. Each session was different, really well thought out and made you work hard. The more sessions I did the more I enjoyed doing them, could see and feel the benefits and wanted to keep doing them.
At the end of 2019 I weighed 78kg and when I weighed myself in May 2020 I was 76.3 kg. By June 2020 I weighed 74.6kg which was the lightest I had been since my twenties and I could see a transformation in my body.
The meal planner has been a lifesaver with so many great recipes that are really tasty and not too hard to make!
The LIVE! Sessions and exercise videos speak for themselves and I've really enjoyed doing them for a few months now, but what I like the most is the amount of beneficial reading I've been able to do. I have been joining Richard’s classes since the first lockdown. My initial aim was to get fitter as I sit in front of screens all day. As it happens I have not just reduced my resting heart rate and feel fitter, I have gone down a couple of belt holes. This for me is a bonus. The sessions are perfect for me, they never get any easier and there is so much variety they don’t get boring. The fact that you don’t need any equipment, apart from a chair occasionally, is perfect for me. Finally the most important aspect for me is the fact that Richard is passionate about what he does, he trains with us, never just giving a count.

I have been a member of Active Rest since the start of the pandemic, as I couldn't go to my usual PT during lockdown. I really enjoy the live sessions most - Richard is so encouraging and helpful, and having the option to have live session suits me as it can't be put off until later!, and its true, you always feel better after a work out :) The website has so much content, that you can always find a work out, or combination of work outs to fit in with time constraints etc. There are lots of options at each level too. The nutrition advice and ideas is also really inspiring. I would recommend Richard and Active-Rest to anyone who wants to get fitter or just maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I first started training with Richard when I was recovering from a broken foot. Morale and confidence low, but Richards patience and motivation eventually made me fitter than I’ve ever been. Every session is different and always fun and challenging. Richard genuinely cares and his fitness knowledge spot on . His zoom Daily live sessions are excellent and the Tuesday and Thursday sessions, at the moment on Facebook/Instagram have brought structure to my week.. you don’t just feel better, you can see the results too!

I would highly recommend Active-Rest online sessions, it is great and enjoyable online training. Richard is encouraging and motivating getting you to maximise your effort. I really enjoy the daily live training sessions, with a variety of exercise throughout the week to build strength, fitness and stamina without getting bored. This is all supported with nutritional and mental health advice plus recipes to try.
I have to say that the commitment Liz has shown to health and fitness over the last year is inspiring. Not just to me but to others as well.
Not many people make a decision to try and get fitter and healthier and then end up becoming the fittest they have ever been and stick to it for as long as she has.

After the strange year we have had the Elmbridge Eagles asked me to get them ready for pre-season training.
After not doing any physical training as steam for quite some time I aimed to make them feel stronger physically and mentally ready for the training and season ahead.
